From unboxing to your first full-body movement with EXCAP
Breaking the first setup into checkpoints makes problems easier to locate. Use this as a map, and follow the latest Wiki guide for exact controls and steps.
1. Check the kit and wear the trackers
Check the trackers, connection device, and camera in your kit. Follow the beginner guide to wear them, then confirm that EXCAP Studio recognizes each tracker.
2. Connect the camera and check the view
Choose the camera setup that fits your use, confirm the camera is online, and check that the tracker markers are visible.
3. Calibrate and connect to VRChat
Follow the guide for body-pose calibration. Confirm that your headset and SteamVR are connected, then check your avatar's movement in VRChat.
4. Troubleshoot from the last successful checkpoint
Avoid changing several settings at once. Note the last working state and any on-screen message, then follow the first-setup troubleshooting page. Bring those details to the community if you still need help.
